The Big Idea:
Imagine a school that can take care of itself! That's what this project wants to build in Kenya.
They want to create a school that doesn't need to worry about money all the time.
The school will help 280 children get a good education and healthy food.
The Problem:
Many children in Kenya live in very poor areas called slums.
The current school is too small and costs too much to run.
It's hard to pay rent, buy food for the kids, and pay the teachers.
The school needs a better, more reliable way to get money.
The Solution:
They want to build a brand-new school that will be "sustainable." That means it can keep going on its own.
Here's how they'll do it:
Buy Land: They'll buy land so they don't have to pay rent anymore.
Grow Food: They'll create gardens, aquaponic systems (growing plants and fish together), and a chicken farm to provide food for the children. This way, they won't have to spend a lot of money on food.
Bike Program: They'll buy more bikes and rent them out to people in the community. The money earned will help pay the teachers' salaries.
They will build a school that can look after itself.
The Good Things That Will Happen (Long-Term Impact):
The school will keep teaching children for a very long time.
The school won't have to worry about running out of money.
Teachers and other people working at the school will have secure jobs.
People in the nearby communities can also get jobs working at the school.
The children will have a safe place to learn.
The children will get healthy food.
The Numbers:
They need to raise £226,897 to make this happen.
So far, they've raised £723.
They have 9 donors helping them.
They have been working on this project for 3 years.
In Simple Words:
They want to build a school that can take care of itself by growing food and earning money from a bike program.
This will help children get a good education and healthy food for many years to come!
