An IMPACT !!****

Today, we have discussion over women empowerment everywhere whether it village or city, but women still don't have such dignified place in the male dominated society in practical world. Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan organizes several programs for young women & girls empowerment and manages several skill development trainings successfully in order to make job and better livelihood opportunities available for women so that they may be able to start their self-employed and to become self-reliant. Among all the beneficiaries, some women become successful enterpreneurs who set examples in the society and in the report, we are going to share the success stories of such successful beneficiaries.

Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan, in the collaboration with, GlobalGiving Foundationa, organized a handicraft training in the slums of ajmer in the city one year ago. In the training, Sunita (Name Changed ) was one of the trainees who comes from deprived community. Sunita has been interested in art & craft from the very beginning. She used to make beautiful pictures in her school times. Due to some reasons, she had to leave study, afterwards, she used to stay at home and make various art & crafts stuffs. She wanted to take proper training of art & crafts, but the economic conditions of her family never allowed her to afford the fee of the training centers.

A day, Sunita came to know about free handicrafts training to be held by RSKS through one of her friends, then Sunita realized that this was the opportunity when she could make her dream true. She immediately visited to RSKS's office and met with the program coordinator and got herself registered for the training. During 3-months handicrafts training, Sunity learned the art of traditional handicrafts as doorbell, bandanwar, key-chain, chandelier, photo-frame, pooja thal, key-holder, and many other decorative items. After attending training classes, she did practise at her home and gited them to her friends and her family members. During the training, a professional trainer from Jaipur taught the trainees to do glass painting and canvas painting.

After completing the training, Sunita started making handicrafts items at her home and the stuffs she made were appreciated by all. Her hard work got her orders from nearby places that initiated an income for Rs. 500 - 600 per day. Now, Sunita exhibits her products at stalls in haat bazar, exhibitions, fairs, etc. and sell the products. On the ocassion of Diwali, she earned a profit of Rs. 33,000 by selling pooja thal and other decorative items. Now, her dreams have come true and according to her, it has become possible due to the efforts of RSKS. Sunita thanks Team RSKS and GlobalGiving Foundation.

My name is Kiran (Name Changed ) and I'm 23 years old. I have grown up in rural atmosphere where girl education is not given importance due to which I lagged behind in study. I have been interested in fashion designing from the very beginning, but living far from city I could not move out to learn the skills. In other words, I suffered bad luck for being a girl. There were always been lack of such trainings in rural areas and I could not make my dream true.

A day I went to see one of my friends in the village where I came to know about skill development training held by RSKS that made me so happy. I didn't waste time and made contact with the Team RSKS where I faced an interview and got selected for the training.

During five-months Designer Hand Bag Making & Fashion Designing Training, I learned almost new things everyday and I learned to make sorts of designer bags as pothli bag, school bag, side purse, etc. along with different costumes. As the training classes were conducted in both ways theory as well as practical that made it easier for us to learn the skills. I got the exact training by RSKS what I have been imagined for. There was a friendly environment among all the trainees and the master trainer that was helpful for us to share our thoughts and view without any hesitation.

After completing the training, I started practising the skills at home, but my sewing machine was out of order due to which I had to go to my neighbour's place for stitiching. When Team RSKS came in the village for conducting feedback & follow-up activities, I told them about my problem and RSKS solved my problem very soon by providing me a micro loan of Rs. 15,000 and I could buy a new sewing machine with the loan amount. Then, I started stitiching clothes (bags, lehnga) at home from which I got an earning of Rs. 300-400 per day.

Now, it is one years since I have been associated with RSKS and still I get guidance from RSKS whenever I need. Recently, I stalled the bags & clothes I made in Pushkar fair with the support of RSKS and selling the designer bags and lehnga got me a good earning. RSKS also motivated me to do study and then I applied for 12th standard examinations and at present I'm preparing for the examinations along with doing work. I want to thank RSKS and the donors to make me able to become self-reliant.
