An Small IMPACT!!
Mohini is 34 years old and she lives in the remote area of the NAGFANI. She belongs to marginalized community and she has her husband and 3 daughters in her family. She used to live inside the house all through her life as going out alone is a ban in typical community. The financial status of her family was very poor as his husband works as labor and all the money he earns is spend on the daughter’s education and for daily basic necessity. She wanted to earn while staying at home so that she can help her husband financially in carrying out daily life activities but due to lacking skill and money she was not able to do anything.
When RSKS INDIA did survey in NAGFANI area for handicraft training then she came to know about the program and participated in it. She was a mother of 3 daughters but still she came to handicraft training. With the help of GG there was a 3 month training program in which she came all the 3 months to learn handicraft. Preparing handicrafts was a first time thing for her but after some time she showed keen interest in it. In the period of training, she made doorbells, ceramic art, key chains, photo frames, glass paintings etc and learned to be very good in making them.
While the time of training, she made these handicraft materials at her home when she was free and showed and sold it to her family members and they all praised her for her work. Now she makes doorbells, ceramic art, key chains, photo frames, glass paintings etc at her home and sells this material in a fair and art market. Some materials are also sold by the relatives. She is busy in making handicraft materials as demand for these are very high in the market and she can earn very well by selling these. She earns 8000 per month while sitting at home. From this work she gets her family support and she gets motivated by this.
