ROSHANI is 28 years old and belongs to a DALIT community and she is from DUNGARIYA, AJMER. In her family, she has her husband, a daughter. His husband’s profession is farming and it is the only earning way to them and previous year her husband has to bear a very big loss in farming and because of that he went in a debt. Roshani has to face a lot of financial problems due to that. She wanted to help but was unable to do anything. Roshani also wanted a way to earn for her family but because of poor village conditions she was not able to do anything.
RSKS INDIA helped Roshani in search for ways to earn and helped her by providing her a skill. RSKS INDIA organized a garment making training program in the village DUNGARIYA KALA. In this program, Roshani also participated and had training for 5 months. While this training she learned all the sewing techniques very well. In this program, she learned about cutting and fitting of skirts, lehanga, kurti, salwar, rajputana dress, Patiala suit etc. Training was given in learning and experimental ways and because of this Roshani was able to understand things in a better way.
Before this training, Roshani didn’t knew how to operate a sewing machine but now she is very skilled in operating it. Roshani now works at her home with confidence and take orders of dresses and deliver those orders in time and because of all this she earns well by staying and working at home. Roshani is now able to give her children education and a better health. Because of this sewing works she earns 7000 rupees and from this she is able to pay the loan of her husband and also pay the financial needs of the family. After this training, many things have changed with Roshani as now she is financially strong now and have a smile and confidence on her face. To open a boutique and start sewing the designer dresses is the dream of Roshani now.
