An Small Effort for Better Livelihood...

By Deepak Sharma | CEO

Respected Donor Namaste!!

RSKS India Family and the beneficiaries wish you and your family "Merry Christmas" !!

The women and girls living in the rural areas find any opportunity to become self-reliant because from the childhood these young girls and women have to be dependent of their father or brother for basic needs and after that when they are married, then also they have to rely on their husband for their basic needs. It is not a good thing, as these young girls and women also want to support the family financially but are unable due to lack of skills and knowledge. These young girls and women living in rural areas are not given proper higher-level education which in result leads to no use of their education. Also in this male dominated society these women and young girls are not encouraged to do some work by going outside of the house. This thinking of the men must be changed with a solid message to the society.

In order to gave solid message to the society and to make the rural women and girls self-sufficient, RSKS India organized garment making vocational school in a inaccessible rural village. The RSKS Team enrolled around 30 young girls and women in this garment making vocational school in which the training of garment making was given to these girls for 3 months. These three months all the girls and women were taught theoretically as well as practically. Also many things like capacity building, life skill, EDP, forming of haat bazar, exhibitions etc were told and taught to these young girls and women so that they could understand in a very better way and also to increase the confidence of these girls and

RSKS India’s garment making vocational school became a success as it made so many girls and women self-reliant. Now many of these girls are doing the sewing work while sitting at home and are earning handsome money every month. These young girls and women are able to support their family financially and also now these girls and women do not have to be dependent on their father, brother or husband for their basic needs. A strong message was also given to the male dominated society that women and girls could also help in the livelihood of house. Also all these girls got a chance to learn a skill which will be helpful for them throughout their life.
