Interview with Trainees for Selection
Interview with Trainees for Selection

Dear Patron !

Rural women and girls who are unable to support their family financially have keen desire to work but due to lack of education and skill they are unable to find any source of employment for themselves. In this context, RSKS India is teaching advanced garment making to these rural women and girls in the vocational education schools of RSKS India. These vocational education schools are run for 3 months through the valuable support of donors. In this program the girls and young women from 18-35 years of age are selected and then they are taught the sewing skills.

One of these vocational schools started in a remote village in which more than 50 girls were identified through door to door survey and then interview of these girls and women was done which led to the selection of 30 girl and young women. After this the inauguration program was done in which the village administration were called as guests and then these young women and girls performed dance, speech, singing etc which motivated other girls and women to also take part in different types of activities. The young women and girls also drew beautiful Rangoli to welcome the guests. At the end of the inauguration program  important advice was given by the guests to all the women and girls.

This program would teach sewing skills to these young women and girls daily for 5 hours except Sundays. In this five hours, 1.5 hours would be theoretical sessions and then 3.5 hours would be practical sessions through which these women and girls would understand the garment making skills with ease and would be able to adapt garment making as their source of employment. These women and girls would learn about life skills, EDP, marketing, sports etc as during the vocational school the RSKS team members conduct all these session in order to build confidence in these women and girls. Job fair, exhibition or hat bazaar would also be organized at the end of their training period so that they could also have an idea of the prices and when they would see their product is purchased by someone else, they would have new energy in them which would make them walk on this path of empowerment throughout their life. All the rural young women and girls thanked whole RSKS India team and the donors for organizing this vocational school at their area.

Once again thank you so much for your valuable Support.

Many Regards
