There are many young women and girls who want to do their own business or work somewhere to support their family economically and become self-reliant but still their dreams of working or doing business do not convert into reality. In order to convert the dreams of these girls and women into reality, RSKS India organizes vocational skill education schools at different villages or remote locations so that the rural women and girls could also have the chance to become self-reliant and their parents or guardians would also allow them to go to a nearby place to learn some new skills. RSKS India teaches different types of trades like beautician, garments making, handicraft making, bag making etc under the non-farming vocation education school. These trainings are usually of 3-5 months and only Sunday is holiday at the school.
In this context, RSKS India organized a beauty parlour vocational education school at a urban area where more than 25 young women and girls were selected for the 3 months rigorous training for 5 hours daily. During the first month of the training many activities have been organized at the vocational education school. Activities & trainings like life skills, sports, Parents teachers meeting etc were done so that a better relation could be built between the master trainer, RSKS Team, trainees and their parents. All of these girls and young women participated in all the activities with full enthusiasm. The master trainer is teaching beautician tips & tricks in 1.5 hours theoretical and 3.5 hours practical sessions daily so that the young women and girls getting the training would understand about the beauty parlour in a better way.
Through organizing these activities at the beauty parlour vocational education school, the confidence of the young women and girls increased surely as now they are able to speak on their thoughts. Their way of perception towards anything have been changed due to the life skills taught to them by the RSKS Team members. The relationship of RSKS team and the parents of the trainees is now strong through the parents teachers meeting and it is very important as it would help in while consultation with them. These young women and girls would soon be getting their skill certificates after the completion of their course and then they would be able to start working or doing their own source of employment. The trainees and their guardians always thank RSKS India team for organizing such a wonderful training to make them self reliant.
