A Year of Progress

By Cheyenne Skye Branscum | North American Fundraising Coordinator

Dear Supporters,

We are thrilled to share the remarkable progress we’ve achieved at Deng Maker Primary School, made possible through your generous donations on GlobalGiving. Despite the continued challenges of holding classes under trees, we taught over 300 students this year, with each child completing final exams for the 2024 academic term. Through your support, our teachers received new textbooks for grades one through seven, greatly enhancing the quality of instruction and providing a structured curriculum for all learners.

Furthermore, 12 teachers have received financial incentives for nine months, ensuring that dedicated and qualified educators remain with us. Their presence has brought much-needed stability and consistency to the school. In addition, with backing from the Maecenata Foundation in Germany, we successfully repaired three boreholes in 2024, providing clean water to both our students and the surrounding community. This safe water source has not only improved health and hygiene but also alleviated a major obstacle to daily life in our village.

Looking ahead, we are excited to announce we have secured seedlings to launch a tree-planting initiative in February 2025. This project will serve multiple goals: offering shade for students and teachers, promoting environmental conservation, and potentially providing fruit in the future. With continued support from our compassionate donors, we aspire to build a permanent school structure, expand our educational resources, and ensure that every child in Majak Goi village has the opportunity to learn in a safe, nurturing environment.

Your commitment to the Mawoudit Foundation has already changed so many lives, and we invite you to stand with us once again. Every contribution helps us move closer to our dream of a fully functioning, resilient school powered by both the enthusiasm of our community and the generosity of donors like you. Together, we can continue this journey of empowerment and hope.

Thank you for your ongoing partnership—your donations truly make a difference!

With gratitude,
The Mawoudit Foundation Team
