GLS progress report

By JAMES MUKIIBI | Project Leader

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your continued support of GLS and GLH. God has given us another opportunity to share about the school progress. We have had guardians meeting where we discussed plans for their children. We shared about our Child protection Policy where we stressed about child abuse forms (Physical, Sexual and Emotional) –GLH shall continue following these forms for abuses and where possible hand over any cases to people in Authority. We encouraged parents about fee payments (for those who can pay) to quickly respond.
We have made study tours to Kidepo National park, Kampala city square and museums etc. Children had exposure to practical aspects of what they have studied in class and saw amazing wild animals, and appreciated how they adapt to their living environments.
GLS Teaching continues to Improve with students doing more of personal reading and group discussions. We are buying school text books with any money that comes for the support of the reading habits of our children.
Praise the Lord, God’s Love Church is growing with several souls accepting Christ Jesus as their personal savior. Muhamad, Karim and others accepted Jesus Christ and are now working at our farm to help with children’s food production.
We welcomed Jakisa Nyitho, our Science consultant Teacher. He is a volunteer and teaching our primary 7 class. We pray that his time with us runs smoothly.
The classroom block construction is ongoing with undecided mind on whether to roof or slab –The foundation raised is very strong that it could hold any future build given the finances. Friends have suggested to install a temporary roof as we wait for the Lord to provide in the future.
GLH children lost their lovely cat. They named it ‘’LOVE’’. It was buried on 10/07/2018 in deep sadness, since it has been showing them love and helping to chase rats at GLH. Some children cried in the process of paying their last respects. May God bring comfort to our children and trust God for another lovely cat.
Prayer Requests
1-For a regular funder to come on board. We are praying for $1,150 monthly for 5 years to be able to maintain the support we are giving. Any contact to friends outside there will be appreciated.
2-For GLS Classroom block to be finished
3-For the Lord to talk to Meadows about his visit to GLH this year or early next year 2019. He has deeply encouraged us to move in the Lord as a brother we love him so much –Pray that the Lord will provide $5,000 for his air ticket to Uganda.
4-For Global Giving Visit this year and that the Lord provide protection/safety.
5-For our GLH firm to thrive and that we are able to have a farm house there as soon as possible.
Blessings in Christ Jesus our Lord,
James Mukiibi
