Over the past months, ORG has been working to better understand and connect Bahamian NGOs with resources and opportunities to expand their impact.
ORG has conducted 4 waves of activities to gather information on local NGOs and the impact they are having on persons in communities across the country. A national survey was conducted asking persons to share how their lives may have been affected through the work of local NGOs. Additionally, ORG travelled to a number of Islands to meet directly with NGO representatives and learn about the challenges and opportunities they expereince in carrying out their mission.
ORG also has participated in a number of local, regional and global trainings and forums to aquire knowledge and resources that can be used by NGOs in The Bahamas to be more effective and productive. These learnings, in areas such as Fund Raising, Communicatioons, Financial Sustainability, Strategic Planning, Volunteer Development and Organizational Management, are being used to build out a multi session training series that can help NGOs better collaborate and work together.
ORG will be utilizing the opportiunity of the GlobalGiving "Giving Tuesday" campaign to raise funds to support the Training Series. One critical funding need will be funding NGOs from the Islands to travel and attend the trainings in person. Please help us to give Bahamian NPOs tools and information to better achieve their missions.
