Over the past quarter, ORG Bahamas has made notable strides in bolstering the capacity and professionalism of local Non-Profit Organizations (NPOs) across The Bahamas, particularly those focused on environmental conservation and disaster management.
Through four full-day training sessions, attended by over 60 NPOs from various islands, ORG delivered comprehensive training on Organizational Leadership, Collaboration, Project Management, Theory of Change, Fundraising, and Grant Writing. These sessions, offered in a hybrid format to accommodate participation from the Family Islands, were met with overwhelmingly positive feedback, especially for the practical templates provided, which participants found immensely valuable in their day-to-day operations.
The emphasis on fostering collaboration through the creation of topical and geographic clusters has equipped NPO leaders with essential tools to strengthen their organizations and contribute more effectively to national development. One of the objectives of this project is to help the Bahamas become more resilient in it's efforts to prepare and respond to natural disasters and work more effectively across sectors and islands.
Looking ahead, ORG will continue its commitment to this initiative by introducing new training sessions on Advocacy, Communications, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Financial Reporting, reinforcing its dedication to empowering local NPOs to drive meaningful change across the nation
