Grand Opening!

Dear Friends,

We wish you could have been with us for the Grand Opening of our birth center in Olongapo. Join us in spirit as we share these pictures of our Grand Opening of the new Birth Center we built with help from your donations. Mercy In Action's Imago Dei Health & Birth Center is now fully open as a licensed birthing facility in Olongapo, Philippines!

The Grand Opening was a joyous event, well-attended by the mayor of Olongapo and many other civic and religious leaders in our community. Several NGOs we partner with sent representatives, and midwives from other birthing facilities attended, along with some of our patients who plan to give birth in this bright new birthing facility.

We have built relationships with our local women's prison as our midwives provide care to inmates, so we were glad that their Head Warden and many officers were able to attend and see our birth center. In the future, they can bring low-risk inmates here if the women choose when labor begins.

This beautiful maternity care facility is already improving access to prenatal care, expanding access to safe and respectful deliveries, and extending the average length of breastfeeding in our area. Your generosity has made this dream become a reality.
