We have exciting news for you! Last month the National Final took place in Sofia! The participants impressed the jury and the audience with their knowledge, dedication and ambition. Besides being excellent spellers they had various other talents such as playing musical instruments, being fluent in other foreign languages, and qualifying for international space camp, just to name a few. This year we had a precedent - Nikol Petrova from Pleven and Vladimir Zhivkov from Lovech were declared co-champions. For the first time in the history of the competition the spelling list was exhausted and the jury was unable to announce one champion. Nikol is 12 years old and she wants to become a surgeon. Her favorite word is ‘circumstance’. Vladimir is 14 and this was his last Spelling Bee competition. His advice for next year’s participants is: “Work hard! It is worth it because the whole experience is amazing!” Getting to know the finalists and their teachers is always very inspiring for us. Seeing their potential motivates us to continue to develop our programs. We want to thank you for your support because without you we will not be able to reach out to so many Bulgarian students.
Stay tuned for updates from the Spelling Bee Summer Camp!
