You have nearly reached the goal. DARE Network’s Teens for Kids Program to Prevent Addiction and Violence in the Burmese Refugee kids has only $1500. to raise.
This is what the final $1500. will do. The Teens are preparing their musical project to celebrate their culture through art and music. By playing and singing with traditional and modern instruments, these young people will ensure that their culture, which is so at risk after 30 years in refugee camps, stays alive. By involving other young people, children and their families they will show how connecting to their roots helps them to prevent the despair that comes from living for so long away from their homeland. In turn, they will help the future generations to avoid abusing alcohol and drugs, that they use to deal with the pain of hopelessness and dependence. Have a look at the photos and watch the short video link.
Wednesday, March 14th is GlobalGiving’s first BONUS DAY of the year. From 12:01 am to 11:59 Eastern Standard time, GlobalGiving will match donations with an additional 30%. If you want to help us reach our goal, this is a great day to give because a little more will go a lot further.
Have a look at the kids singing a traditional song on the YouTube link below and be sure to visit our website and Friends of DARE FaceBook Page.
Please consider a further gift on BONUS DAY, March 14th to help the Burmese Refugee Youth complete their project by the end of June. If you are willing to share this challenge with your friends, we can reach that $1500. goal even faster. Then we can show you what you and we have achieved to prevent addiction and violence among Burmese Refugee Youth.
