As we are getting ready to celebrate the Lunar New Year in Taiwan, we wanted to take this opportunity to express our gratitude for your support throughout 2018 and on behalf of our staff and clients, wish you all the best for 2019.
When they arrive at our Rehabilitation Center, many burn survivors don’t know when they will be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel, it seems that progress is always far away and that the pain of rehabilitation will never end. But eventually, they start to see hope in the future, they begin to turn their life around and even discover abilities and talents they didn’t even know they had. This is what happened to Ming-Yi. While undergoing rehabilitation, thanks to the encouragement of Sunshine’s therapist and psychologist, he discovered an interest and a talent for calligraphy that he has been developing ever since. Now, Ming-Yi not only teaches calligraphy to many students, but he also gives back to help other burn survivors by volunteering and by participating in charity sales.
Ming-Yi says: “When one door closes, another one opens, it’s up to us to make the most out of it. I received a lot of help after my injury, I was able to find something I love to do and now I’m just happy to be able to give back.”
Thanks to you, we were able to provide rehabilitation services to 937 burn survivors across Taiwan and accompany them as they rebuild their lives, regain hope in the future and rediscover their potential, just like Ming-Yi did. We hope that you will continue to support us in 2019 and continue to bring sunshine in the lives of burn survivors in Taiwan.
Wishing you good health and happiness for this new year!
