Help Rural Women Gain Essential Business Skills

Today, I would like to share a story of Avantika.

Avantika  has been running a home-based pickle business for the past 4–5 years, initially earning around 10,000 per month. She joined Mann Deshi Foundation’s Rural Chamber of Commerce for women last year. She attended P2P and B2B network meetings, and workshops on legal compliance, digital marketing, packaging, and labelling.

These workshops helped her understand the critical importance of obtaining Udyog Aadhaar and FSSAI registrations. She availed a 30,000 loan from a self-help group and a 5,000 revolving grant from Mann Deshi Foundation to purchase an air-packing machine. The machine not only protected her products from external contamination but also made them look more attractive and enhanced their shelf life.

The digital marketing workshop opened new avenues for marketing and promotion. She began using Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, IFE Stores (Indian Farmers’ Store), and Chhaya Kart’s online platform to increase the visibility of her products. Her participation in events such as the Mann Deshi Mahotsav and various exhibitions further enhanced her brand visibility. Avantika’s pickles were selected for listing on the ONDC e-commerce platform, which significantly boosted her sales.

She has applied for a 5 lakh loan under the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme with support from her mentor and advisory team to take her business to the next level. With quality packaging, stronger branding, online payment systems, and a growing online presence, Avantika now earns 1 lakh per month.
Today, Avantika has become a role model for women entrepreneurs who seek support to expand their business vision and climb the ladder to the next level.
