Hello Supporters,

As you can see fundraising has been a little slow for us with only raising $1,550 since we begain our group of community volunteers and passionate team we have had to focus on activities with less funding. Since the launch of the Cambodia Regeneration project, we have made significant strides in planing a really robust and strong strategic plan that will help our community become the showcase for long term sustainable solutions to others across Cambodia and Asia but now we need to raise the funds to kick off!

We aim in addressing the issue of urban poverty and inequality. Cambodia's rapid urbanization, particularly in cities like Phnom Penh, has brought about significant challenges, including informal settlements, lack of access to quality services, and economic exclusion of marginalized groups. Our initiative is targeting these issues directly by implementing programs that foster economic empowerment, improve access to basic services, and reduce social inequality.

From our community engagement we have build a robust plan that will tackle:

  • Urban Migration and Population Growth: Rapid migration to urban centers continues to strain infrastructure and social services. While we’ve made strides in improving conditions for those living in informal settlements, the constant influx of new migrants presents ongoing challenges for expanding services.
  • Inequality in Access to Resources: Despite our efforts, there are still disparities in the distribution of resources, particularly when it comes to access to technology and education. We are working to scale up digital literacy initiatives to ensure that all urban residents, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, can participate in the digital economy.
  • Community Resistance to Change: Some communities have been slow to embrace new approaches, especially in the areas of women’s empowerment and leadership. However, through persistent dialogue, community engagement, and the involvement of local leaders, we are gradually breaking down resistance and building support for change.

Plans for the Future

  • Scaling Livelihood Programs: We will expand vocational and entrepreneurship programs, targeting an additional 1,000 individuals in Phnom Penh and other major urban centers.
  • Affordable Housing Expansion: We aim to develop 1,000 more affordable housing units for low-income families over the next year, working in partnership with local government and private sector partners.
  • Health and Education Initiatives: We will expand health and education services to reach 5,000 more urban residents, ensuring that vulnerable populations have access to essential services.
  • Strengthening Digital Access: We plan to extend community Wi-Fi hubs to an additional 10 urban neighborhoods, further enhancing access to technology and information.

We are really excited to launch this project but first we need to raise a significant amount of funding to launch.

Also please don't forget the Charity Advent Calendar campaign that will help us and another 23 projects this advent. For more information check it out here - https://actionchange.org/givingseason-advent-calendar/
