Camel Library Report

Alif Laila Book Bus Society continues to make significant strides in promoting education and fostering a love for reading through its camel libraries across various villages. The following is a summary of the progress made by each camel library:

1. Roshan Camel Library:
The Roshan Camel Library has successfully reached several areas, including Kalath Bazar Mand, Kohposht Bazar Mand, Balochabad Bazar Mand, Kohbon Bazar Mand, and Primary School Gayab Mand. The library has had a positive impact on the local children, who have shown great enthusiasm for reading. In January 2023, a total of 250 children (210 girls and 40 boys) benefited from the library, and the numbers continued to grow in the subsequent months.

2. Aman Camel Library:
The Aman Camel Library has visited villages such as Balwa, Rutiniari, Soklave, and Serkio, bringing the joy of reading to the children in these areas. The library has witnessed a steady increase in beneficiaries, with 201 children (105 girls and 96 boys) benefiting in May 2023. The positive response from the children indicates the significant impact the library has had on their educational development.

3. Umeed Camel Library:
The Umeed Camel Library has been instrumental in reaching areas such as Killi Karim Khan, Killi Hazoor Bakhsh Marr, Tahirabad KOHLU, Killi Mir Malook Marri KOHLU, and Azizabad KOHLU. The library has consistently provided educational opportunities to the children in these regions, with a total of 384 beneficiaries (287 girls and 97 boys) in January 2023. The numbers have remained consistently high, indicating the sustained impact of the library.

4. Mashal Camel Library:
The Mashal Camel Library has made extensive visits to various villages, including M. Ameen, Hamayoon, Hajana, Chandia, Manthar Sheikh, Rano Sheikh, Trimuhon, and G. Abbas Sheikh. The library has successfully engaged children in reading, with 190 beneficiaries (107 girls and 83 boys) in January 2023. The number of beneficiaries has steadily increased, highlighting the positive response from the communities.

5. Chiragh Camel Library:
The Chiragh Camel Library has focused on areas such as Kargani Chib Passo Pishkan, Ishaque Bazar Pishkan, and Dagaroo Bazar Passo Pishkan. With a total of 4,335 beneficiaries, the library has made a significant impact on the local communities. Although specific data regarding gender distribution is not provided, it is evident that the library has positively influenced the lives of a large number of children.

Aman, Raunaq and Khushi have completed their respective cycles and now are heading towards their new destinations and taking books to more villages soon, they are in the process of finalising their new routes.

New Addition to the Caravan:
We are delighted to announce the launch of our 9th camel library called Nayab (meaning rare) in District Rahim Yar Khan, Tehsil Khanpur Chack # 295/1-L. The Nayab Camel Library joined the caravan in June 2023, aiming to provide educational opportunities and the joy of reading to the children in this area. We are excited about the potential impact the Nayab Camel Library will have on the local community and look forward to witnessing the growth and development of the children benefiting from this new addition.

Alif Laila Book Bus Society remains committed to its mission of promoting literacy and education through these camel libraries, and we express our gratitude to all the supporters and donors who have made these initiatives possible. Together, we continue to make a difference in the lives of children, opening doors to a brighter future through the power of books.
