We’re excited to bring you another powerful update on the journey to make Camp Aklowah a reality—and it’s all thanks to your ongoing support, belief, and generosity.
Your contributions have continued to push us forward, and we’re thrilled to share that we’ve hit some major milestones.
Recent Achievements
Construction Milestone Reached
We have officially reached roof level on both the Technology Lab and a 2-bedroom house that will serve as accommodation for camp staff or visiting facilitators. This is a huge step in getting our site ready for year-round activities and longer stays for students.
New Facilities Underway
We’ve started construction on:
Three open-air pavilions, which will serve as flexible learning and recreation spaces
An external toilet block, ensuring we meet the sanitation needs of large groups while maintaining a clean and safe camp environment
Youth Engagement This April
In line with our mission of teaching youth to care for their communities and the environment, this Easter holiday, we’ll be taking 100 children out to the Camp Aklowah site for a special day of tree planting, fun activities, and nature exploration. This will be our first large group experience on-site and a preview of the full Camp Aklowah experience.
