Cervical Cancer Screening project report
The Cervical Cancer Screening Program in Kosovo's major municipalities has successfully screened over 14,800 women, underscoring our dedication to extending this crucial service to even the most remote and vulnerable communities. Our commitment lies in the expansion of the program, focusing particularly on women in rural areas. Through collaborative efforts and heightened awareness initiatives, our goal is to ensure that every woman has access to essential cervical cancer screening, a measure that undoubtedly saves lives.
During this quarter, the Institute of Pathology made significant strides in enhancing the effectiveness and quality of the Cervical Cancer Screening Program. As part of the double-reading protocol, 50 carefully chosen Pap tests from Peja's regional hospital are currently undergoing reevaluation. This approach, aimed at improving result accuracy, aligns with our broader objective of raising the overall quality standards at the Institute.
Additionally, our commitment to advancing expertise was evident through the enrollment of two pathologists in an online training organized by the International Gynecologic Cancer Society. This initiative, supported by our leadership, is vital for honing the skills of our professionals in the field of cervical cancer screening. Furthermore, the imminent launch of an engaging and informative video on Cervical Cancer Prevention highlights our proactive efforts in raising public awareness. These collective endeavors underscore our unwavering dedication to improving service quality, enhancing staff expertise, and bolstering public awareness in the domain of cervical cancer prevention.
