Our New Solar Projects

Next In Line For Solar Power
Next In Line For Solar Power

Our family solar projects are growing!  We've installed solar power for over a dozen families and our team on Lake Atitlan has identified many many more homes that need solar power.  We are going to be installing solar power on family homes as we receive funds from this GlobalGiving campaign.

Please Note: Next week is GlobalGiving's Little by Little campaign.  They will match 50% of donations up to $50 per person, so please consider making a donation April 3 - 7.

I'm really excited to report that we have established a relationship with a group of midwives who will help us identify families that lack electricity and for us getting these families bright LED lights is a priority.

We have been providing solar LED lights for 15 years now and we have re-visited many of the homes where we first installed solar.  To say life for these families has improved would be a phenominal understatement.  We save tons of carbon from the atmosphere, kids, especially girls, stay in school longer.  Families save money they once spent on candles and with the extra few dollars per week they are able to purchase more nutritious food for their children.  Solar power for families that lack electricity is a win-win-win.

When midwives describe delivering a baby they use the expression to "dar luz" - literaly to "give light".

We have a lot of work to do. In rural parts of Guatemala there are entire villages without electricity. With your continued help we can “dar luz” and save the planet at the same time.
