Celebrating a new chapter in Cork! Our new office at Westpoint Business Park, Ballincollig is now open. Thanks to Deputy Lord Mayor Cllr. Colette Finn for the warm opening, our CEO Paddy Connolly for sharing the history and his vision for Age Action Cork, and a special thank you for the first-hand account of the impact of the work of Age Action in Cork City from Maureen Cullinane. Maureen has been a Volunteer with our Getting Started programme, has experience of our Care and Repair Work and is one of our biggest champions in the Cork area!
Also a big thank you to the HSE, Cork City Council, our community colleagues, corporate partners and local organisations who came to celebrate with us. Let's keep making a difference together!
Uniting the Community
The launch was a testament to the power of collective effort. It brought together volunteers, local community groups, corporate businesses and Age Action staff. Deputy Lord Mayor Cllr. Colette Finn's presence underscored the local government's commitment to social causes, setting a tone of genuine partnership and collaboration.
Voices That Resonate
Our CEO, Paddy Connolly, delivered an impassioned address that not only highlighted our mission but also called upon Cork's corporate and local community to join hands in fostering an age-friendly environment. The highlight of the day was the stirring narrative from Maureen Cullinane, a testament to the tangible impact of Age Action's work. Her experience with our Getting Started programme and the Care and Repair work resonated with everyone, illustrating the profound effect of community support - “Every time we can’t get an answer on the phone, every time we get a bot on the internet, every time we want to go somewhere and we have a problem with mobility, we remember that there is a group that will support us. Thank you, Age Action”.
