University Education for Young Women in Cambodia

For many young Cambodian women, planning for a career is stepping into the unknown. Without access to career guidance or professional role models, they are often left wondering how to prepare for an uncertain future. That’s why, on August 10, 2025, Lotus Outreach Cambodia (LOCAM) hosted an inspiring half-day panel discussion “Preparing Youth for Today’s Job Market.” 

The event brought together 44 students alongside three distinguished speakers and LOCAM staff. The session was designed to give underprivileged female university students the knowledge and confidence to navigate Cambodia’s fast-changing job market. The event was honored by the presence of three outstanding panelists:

• Mr. Vanna – Senior Human Resource Development Manager at the Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Center (CJCC)
•  Ms. Sophoeun – Recruitment Consultant and Business Development Manager at HRINC Cambodia Co., Ltd.
• Ms. Rany – Founder of Krusar Marble Company and a 2020 CATALYST graduate 

Together, they shared valuable insights on current job trends, the importance of both technical and soft skills, and practical tips for CV writing and interview preparation. Students also heard inspiring stories of resilience and success from the panelists’ own career journeys.
