Over the last months, we focused our work in Centro COMParte on both the adult and youth population.
We started a class of Afrolatina dance that currently counts about 10 children aged from 15 to 17. Through dance practice children work on their ability to relate to others. They work together on principles of respect, tolerance, and on their personal skills such as spontaneity and corporal expression.
Thanks to the support of professionals from “Atrapasueños”, a joint digital strategy of the Secretary for Social Integration and the Institute Von Humboldt, the children enjoyed the beauty of nature during a walk on the eastern hills of the city.
We inaugurated a new dressmaking class, starting with the very basics for people with no knowledge of sewing. The group is currently composed of 9 adults who assist the class every Tuesdays. This class is given by a teacher from the neighbourhood of Santa Rosa, who is part of the group of micro-entrepreneurs we are working with at the moment.
In addition, the economic part of COMParte has been put forward over the last months as five micro-entrepreneurs started a process of accompanying for business reinforcement. The first step consisted in a diagnostic of the strengths, weaknesses, necessities and opportunities of each micro-entrepreneur. In the following steps a process of support and assistance will start. It will be handled directly by professors from the University Politecnico Gran Colombiano who are committed in corporate social and professional responsibilities.
Regarding the alliances, we have had the chance to meet the majority of the organizations working with the community. We are currently reinforcing those new relations in order to improve our work with the community. We most certainly hope this process will achieve good results that we will tell you about in our next reports. You can keep following our work and support us on social media and on our Global Giving page.
