To our dear supporters and friends,
Happy New Year to you and your family, from our Tiny Toones family in Phnom Penh.
The ending of 2025 was scary for all of us with the upscale of a long-standing war between Cambodia and Thailand. We send our prayers to those less fortunate on the borders of both sides who have lost everything, and hope for a quick end to this lastest escalation.
We are now spending our days on our newly acquired land in Pochentong. KK, his family and our extended Tiny Toones family - the older boys and original dance crew have been incredibly supportive and together we are helping eachother and the builders to get our centre up and running as soon as possible.
We were thrilled to have two of our Board members also come and visit recently. Australian-born and Thailand-expat Romi came late last year in support of a local hip hop fundraising event where all of Tiny Toones, young and old, came together and performed alongside well-known Cambodian, French and American rappers and performers. There is even talk of Romi's memoir Hip Hop & Hope, being translated into French. Bgirl Diamond also brought her to see the construction of the new centre and with KK supporting from the rooftop, and KK's father-in-law holding the ladder at the bottom, she climbed the makeshift ladder (photo provided for your amusement). For a copy of Hip Hop & Hope in paperback, ebook or audio and with 50% of all proceeds going to the centre.Click HERE.
A few months later another Board member Micaela came from the US with her Nonprofit Lovely Hearts group who raised some funds and witnessed the instalment of Tiny Toones first toilets. A laborious but important task. Building a new centre is a long slow process but also very exciting.
The original Tiny Toones crew visit often and for Christmas Bboy Suicide and Bboy Frog lay down some mats to breakdance in front of the local village kids and help create excitement of what's to come. The locals are incresingly excited to have a safe space to send their children to gain a free education and to learn the creative arts. All of this is only possible because of your long-standing support, which we appreciate beyond words. Truly, it is a gift that has not gone unnoticed.
Wishing you a fabulous start to 2026.
With love and respect,
KK, Romi and TT family x
