It has been a goal of our last strategic plan to provide professional development on evidence based reading instruction. Envisioning this for educators presently working as well as those beginning their path in schools of education at the college level. We are so pleased to say we have been full force in accomplishing this goal by providing our series of workshops on How the Brain Reads to 5 of the seven regions of the Department of Education in PR, to bachelors students in the school of education at one of the public universities in the island, to the dual language teachers in one region of the Department of Education and three private schools. We are excited and hopeful as so many educators begin to learn and create awareness on the evidence based reading instruction with the aim of improving the reading gap.
