An end of a semester

As we wind down the fall 2024 semester for the year with visions of rest and relaxation dancing in our heads, we reflect on the impact that our small but mighty team of three have had on students in the last few months.

To date we have visited:

  • 21 Elementary schools
  • 4 Middle Schools
  • 2 High Schools

We have presented to:

  • 10,650 Elementary school students
  • 2,262 Middle school students
  • 1,403 High school students

Totaling 14,315 students between August 1st and December 15th

We know the impact and importance that our visits have on these schools and students. We’ve experienced hugs and disclosures, seen students empowered to come forward and advocate on their behalf, heard teachers tell us that this is such helpful information for their students. To know that students are taking what we say to heart and learning/applying our conversations to help keep themselves safe from harm or further harm, is gratifying.

We know from research and personal stories that students often face abuse and bullying types of challenges during the holidays, a time when many family members are around and where a child might not be able to escape forms of abuse. Knowing that we’ve taught them behaviors and red flags to watch out for and safe adults that they can talk to, we hope that we have helped them to see that there are adults out there that want to help them and know who they can go to for help. We will continue to give our time and attention to students who wish to talk because you never know what will be said.

In closing out this half of the school year we’re happy to have impacted so many students. It’s been busy! The next semester brings on new challenges (winter weather) and for now we have 13 elementary schools, 4 middle schools, and 1 high school scheduled and we continue to add to our spring schedule as we progress through the school year.

Wishing you and your family many blessings this holiday season.
