"Children are Guardians of Forests in Tanzania"! Poverty and environmental destruction is the cause of Korogwe forest depletion of natural resources in Tanzania. To protect our forest environment, reduce vulnerability to climate change, and ensure food security, tree planting and environmental education program in schools and local community we are working with families and have trained them about their leading role as in environmental stewardship and changemakers.
There is challenge of environment and forest degradation, as a result there is economic lagging which leads to poverty, so it is essential to achieve long-term solutions to protect our natural resources and climate resilience .A sustainable project focused on empowering local communities in Tanzania and implementing knowledge into action, like providing them tools such as sustainable agriculture and ways of forest restoration to create food security and forests ecosystem restoration.
Our environmental education program has empowered hundreds of children since 2019 focusing on Creating Tanzanian Environmental Leaders: the next leaders of social, ecological, and economic development for their community. They will be leading and reducing vulnerability to climate change and acts as a driving force towards socio-economic development. Since 2022, we have focused on training Korogwe local communities regarding regenerative agriculture to generate resilience to crisis and climate.
Our program started in 2016, and some of the Children who participated in our program are now leaders in our local community. Children who participate in the program grow up with excellent social skills such as respect, honesty, leadership, teamwork, commitment and love for their forests and environment. Some of them are action leaders of their communities and are dealing with challenges to protect their forests and environment and their communities. Promoting sustainable agriculture.
