Our new Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) team in Haiti has been busy visiting the homes of every child at Maison de Grace, ensuring they are safe, accessible, and adapted to each child’s needs. This work includes installing ramps and handrails, and most recently, building new beds. Mitch and Loudjina — who had been sleeping on mattresses on the floor — were overjoyed with their new beds and improved sleeping spaces.
We’re also excited to have launched “Carers Clubs” at Maison de Grace — welcoming parents and carers of children with disabilities into a supportive community. These gatherings provide a safe space to share experiences, offer peer encouragement, and receive practical advice and training on caring for their children. And, in true Haitian spirit, each session ends with a little music and dancing!
These initiatives reflect HHA’s commitment to empowering families and improving the lives of children with disabilities — one home, one family, one joyful step at a time.
