We are pleased to report that the clean plate nutrition and therapy project in the slums of Nairobi has made significant progress in the past six months. We have engaged with vulnerable groups such as women and children with disabilities from the slums of Mathare and Kawangware on the importance of sanitation and healthy diets for preventing undernutrition
1. We have also promoted healthy eating habits and the use of clean foods when cooking
2. We have distributed micronutrient supplements and fortified foods to children with disabilities under ten years old.
3. We have partnered with local health workers and leaders to monitor and evaluate the impact of our interventions on therapy services. We continue to provide free occupational and speech therapy services to children with disabilities from low-income areas.
As a result, we have observed a reduction in the prevalence of stunting, wasting, and diarrhea among the target population. We are grateful for your continued support and look forward to scaling up our project to reach more children with disabilities living in various slums in Nairobi Kenya and beyond.
Your donations and contributions continue to make a huge difference in the lives of children with disabilities in Mathare and Kawangware slums. Their caregivers also benefit from the nutrition lessons and food parcels that we distribute monthly.
Kind Regards,
