Rehabilitation of Existing Water Points
This reporting period focused on restoring damaged and non-functional water sources that had left many families without reliable access to safe drinking water. Our team successfully rehabilitated several water points that had been out of service due to mechanical failures and years of wear and tear.
The rehabilitation process included replacing damaged pump components, repairing concrete platforms, cleaning drainage systems, and conducting water quality tests. Once repairs were completed, each water point underwent thorough testing to ensure functionality and safety.
The restored water sources are now serving hundreds of community members who previously depended on unsafe alternatives. Families no longer need to walk long distances or collect water from contaminated sources. This improvement has reduced both the physical burden and health risks associated with inadequate water access.
Community members participated throughout the rehabilitation process, contributing labor and assisting with site clean-up activities. Their involvement has strengthened local ownership and increased awareness of the importance of protecting water infrastructure.
Training sessions were also conducted for Water User Committees to enhance their capacity to manage routine maintenance and respond to minor repairs. These efforts are helping build local systems that will keep water points operational long after project completion.
We thank our donors for making these achievements possible. Every contribution helps restore dignity, improve health, and create lasting change for families in need.
