OVERVIEW
This report provides an update on the successful completion of the mechanized water project at Kumasi Girls Senior High School (SHS), aimed at ensuring access to clean, safe, and sustainable water for students and staff. This initiative is made possible by the generous sponsorship of Danish partners Rungsted Gymnasium, Ega Ungdoms Hojskole, Skals Efterskole, and LoveSpring, in partnership with Young Visionary Leaders Ghana (YVLG).
The project addresses critical water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) challenges in schools, aligning with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4 and 6. By providing reliable water access, the project improves health, dignity, and educational outcomes for young women at Kumasi Girls SHS.

The project involved the installation of a mechanized water system designed to supply consistent and safe water throughout the school premises. Key features include:

The Founder and Executive Director of Young Visionary Leaders Ghana, Joseph Tettey Afangbe, noted that this project symbolizes the strong friendship and partnership between Ghana and Denmark, united in fostering a better future for youth. CHALLENGES
Sustaining funding for school-based WASH projects remains a challenge. Facilitating consistent support and expanding similar initiatives requires continuous engagement with current and potential donors and partners.

YVLG will continue to leverage strategic fundraising campaigns on social media and the GlobalGiving platform, whilst strengthening bonds with local stakeholders and international partners to scale impact.
