In the rural community of Adaklu Dawanu, access to clean water remains one of the community’s greatest challenges. Families and students are forced to fetch water from the Dawa River, a source shared by both people and animals. Each trip takes nearly 30 minutes, exposing children to waterborne diseases and taking time away from their studies.
But hope is on the horizon. On October 23, 2025, students at The Academy School in California will hold a Walk-A-Thon fundraiser to raise money to repair and restore Dawanu’s borehole. These young students are walking so that children in Dawanu no longer have to walk for water, an act of compassion that connects classrooms across continents.
Your continued support is helping us bring clean, safe water to Dawanu. Together, we are turning empathy into action and making lasting change possible for this resilient community. THANK YOU!
