Q3 2019 GlobalGiving Quarterly Report

Villager Planting Trees
Villager Planting Trees

Dear Supporters,

We were pleased to have achieved 5th place in GlobalGiving's 2019 Climate Fund Campaign, which ended on 29 April. In the process, we greatly increased our donor base, so now we have over 100 donors. Thank you all so very much for coming on board to this Climate Action Now funding effort.

In the last week, the Guardian has reported on recent studies highlighting the importance of tree-planting to protect the planet against dangerously increasing global warming. Please see the accompanying links to the July 4 and July 9 articles on this topic.

Thanks to your kind and generous donations, this week we sent funds to plant another 21,510 trees and to provide 215 days of paid work to villagers who were previously in extreme poverty. Eden Reforestation is our tree-planting partner and has now planted 250m trees. Eden transforms the lives of local villagers by providing paid tree-planting funded through its many partner organisations, including N0CO2, working with Climate Action Now and IAHV. Eden aims to plant 250m trees a year. If you would you like to be part of planting the next 250m trees, you can do so here on this Global Giving Climate Action Now page. UK Gift Aid is available on your donation to this project.

This week's newest funding instalment will bring the total number of trees funded by Climate Action Now, N0CO2 and IAHV to about 120,000, and the total number of paid work days to about 1,200. As a result, N0CO2 will move up to the next level of Eden partnership, the Grove Level.

While we have three projects in our business plan, we are currently prioritising the funding of tree-planting with a view to achieving its 300,000 tree goal. In due course and as and when promising opportunities arise, we will address the education and teacher training aspects of our plan.

Thank you again for all your support.
