Bangladesh is one of the countries in the World which is mostly vulnerable to natural disaster. Southern coastal part of the country is most susceptible to damage due to natural calamities as the part faces the water surge at the very first stage of any cyclones.
In Bangladesh May to July is the most vulnerable period for natural disasters. Most of the highly damaged disasters in Bangladesh history occurred in this period. So, BEDS with the Union Disaster Management Committee (UDMC) members are working together to face the upcoming disasters. They are training people about pre, during and post disaster activities and responsibilities to limit the damage due to natural disasters.
BEDS trying heart and soul to mitigate the disaster risks of coastal vulnerable people. BEDS has provided various trainings to the local people like Disaster Risk Reduction, Disaster Preparedness, Climate adaptive house making etc. to reduce their loss and damage. Recently, BEDS is trying to raise funds through the GlobalGiving platform for the project entitled “Reducing Disaster Risks of the Sundarbans Coastal People”.
We are extremely grateful to our donors for their continuous support. We would like to request all our donors to start monthly recurring donations for our project.
