Capacity building training to counteract disaster

Training villagers to counteract upcoming disaster
Training villagers to counteract upcoming disaster

Bangladesh has a long history of natural disasters. The geographical location, land characteristics, multiplicity of rivers and the monsoon climate render Bangladesh highly vulnerable to natural hazards. Coastal zone of Bangladesh is mostly susceptible to disaster damage as it faces the first attack of any natural calamities.

As May to July is the most vulnerable period for natural disasters, together with Village Disaster Management Committee (VDMC) members BEDS is working to face the upcoming disasters.

VDMC members are training the disaster vulnerable people and improving their capacity. Beside that they are awaring the community about the COVID-19, as COVID-19 is spreading much more rapidly in recent days and the government has declared lockdown again to counteract the spreading.

BEDS trying heart and soul to mitigate the disaster risks of coastal vulnerable people. Recently BEDS is trying to raise funds through the GlobalGiving platform for the project entitled “Reducing Disaster Risks of the Sundarbans Coastal People”

We are extremely grateful to our donors for their continuous support. We would like to request all our donors to start monthly recurring donations for our project.
