The coastal people fight everyday with the harshness of the environment. One of the harshness of the environment is cyclone. Which comes every year and destroy the costal people’s happiness and challenge their safety. In Satkhira, Shyamnagar there is a small village named munshiganj. Most of the people live below poverty. Most of them live in hut and their family member especially children, old members and disable people suffer for this. They don’t have any protected place for their poultry and livelihood. They and their livelihood depend on it. When this type of cyclone comes, they suffer a lot due to this climatic hazard.
The fisher man families live near the river. Actually, they live in the bank of the river. That’s why they face the worst effects of cyclone. The wind blows away their huts. Water over flow through the road. This vulnerable community lives with this and because of this they are never free for poverty. Because every year they have to start from the first.
26th May the coastal people faces the cyclone Ramel. It hits the coastal people and for preparedness Bangladesh Environment and Development Society takes some necessity stapes. Like for pre awareness activity they miking through the village and share awareness signal declared by meteorologic office. They also inspire them to go the existing cyclone center which is very close to the fisherman community. BEDS team also prepare the cyclone center for the villagers.
