We are writing to update you on our ongoing efforts to combat climate change through the restoration of mangrove ecosystems. As you may know, mangroves are up to 10 times more efficient at long-term carbon absorption than terrestrial ecosystems, making them a critical weapon in our fight against climate change. Unfortunately, these vital ecosystems are under threat worldwide, from Africa to Florida, due to tourism, shrimp farming, and other human activities.
Over the past few months, we have made significant strides in our mission. We have successfully planted 25 new mangroves in various parts of Asia. These trees, which can absorb more carbon than any other and thrive in saltwater, form a unique ecosystem that supports a diverse range of marine life and bird species. Moreover, they serve as a natural barrier against rising sea levels and shoreline erosion.
However, we have recently faced some challenges. Our funding has decreased, and we have sadly lost a corporate sponsor that was providing us with regular funding for planting due to economic restrictions. Despite these setbacks, we remain committed to our mission. We continue to fundraise and plant, and this project is now fully funded by the generous donations of supporters like you.
We understand that times are challenging, but we want to emphasize how crucial your support is to our mission. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to restoring these vital ecosystems.
