Co-Create a Learning Laboratory for Mayan Students

We are pleased to inform you of the significant impact we have achieved through our Open Courses Program. Thanks to your generous support, we have been able to provide transformative educational opportunities to youth in our community in Chajul. Last year, we were able to carry out two key courses: the Life Design Course and the Transformational Leader Course.

We supported 12 students in engaging in the Life Design course which focused on empowering young people to plan and achieve their personal and professional goals.Through this course, each student was able to develop a life plan projected for the next five years. This provided them with a clear roadmap to follow their dreams and make informed decisions about their future. Additionally, they evaluated twelve areas of their lives and prioritized three goals to improve their living conditions and abilities.

Via the Transformational Leader course, we worked with 9 students to cultivate leadership and entrepreneurship skills. The students had the unique opportunity to participate in two educational camps, where they gained practical knowledge in various areas, such as making artisanal pizzas and growing oyster mushrooms. Additionally, they learned how to start a business, exploring local product prototypes and developing critical business skills. We are enormously proud of the positive impact we have made in the lives of our students. Through these programs, we are not only providing them with practical knowledge and technical skills but also fostering a spirit of leadership and empowerment.

Our goal is to continue sowing opportunities in the lives of our young people, further strengthening the technical and leadership skills they need to thrive and contribute to the development of our community in Chajul.
