Dear Friend,

The CoderDojo community continues to thrive around the world, empowering young people to learn coding and digital skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Creativity unleashed: Coolest Projects 2024
Coolest Projects is a celebration of young digital creators and the amazing things they make with technology.

Welcoming projects of all kinds, from beginner to advanced, Coolest Projects is an opportunity for a community of like-minded young people to come together and celebrate a shared passion for all things computer science, in a fun and encouraging environment.

We have already hosted two of our events this year and were blown away by all of the talented kids who took part. Coolest Projects Ireland was held in April and saw 100 young people share over 80 incredible projects, highlighting their creativity and proficiency in coding. Following on from this, Coolest Projects UK took place in May and over 70 children joined in on the fun. A wide variety of projects were showcased, from a website aimed at tackling period inequality, to a brother and sister duo who presented their journey with the Astro Pi Challenge.

We will be celebrating all entries to the Coolest Projects online showcase in a live celebration on 26 June 2024. You can find out more about the celebration, or sign up to the newsletter by visiting: rpf.io/cpinfo

CoderDojo around the world!
With Dojos in over 100 countries, the movement continues to inspire the next generation of digital makers and innovators. Check out these updates from a handful of our partners over the past few months:

  • CoderDojo in Greece has been on a growth mission, going from 1 to 11 Dojos since last summer.
  • CoderDojo in Japan – The number of coding clubs is now a factor in the Japanese government's Regional Wellbeing index. This important recognition highlights CoderDojo's positive impact on local communities and opens doors for potential government collaborations.
  • CoderDojo in Belgium recently hosted their Coolest Projects Belgium event and received 36 project entries. The most spectacular exhibit was a rocket launched outside, which proved very popular.
  • CoderDojo partnered with Fullstack Vision Foundation in Aruba has expanded into Curacao with its first Dojo. Also in Aruba, a partnership with the STEM faculty at the university on Sustainable Island Development focuses on environmental challenges using CoderDojo resources and learning paths.

Lastly, United Dojos is a collaboration of CoderDojos in different countries. Teams of ninjas are paired up to work together on submissions to the European Space Agency’s Astro Pi Challenge.

Once again, thank you for your continued support.
With gratitude and until next time,

Emily
