Welcome to our first Global Giving Report! We at the Hello World Foundation are truly excited to be working with Global Giving to help spread CoderDojo globally. CoderDojo is a global open source movement of free coding clubs for young people. Our mission is to create the worlds leading network of affiliated coding clubs done through supporting and scaling the CoderDojo community.
Over the past three months the number of Dojos around the world has grown from 220s Dojos to 250 Dojos spread across 30 countries. To see a full list of all Dojos check out the listing here Dojo Listing. Your donations have enabled us to provide support and provide assistance to people wishing to start a Dojos across the world. In the past 90 days we have responded to 836 support requests from such people, connecting them with other individuals wishing to start Dojos in their area and have facilitated discussions among the global community. We have sent 3 monthly newsletters sharing news from the global community.
Here a snapshot testimonial that one of our champions received after running a Dojo on the West Coast ‘As parents, we're always looking for ways to make our kids feel special about the things that make them unique. Too often kids worry about fitting in as opposed to fitting themselves. The CoderDojo event gave Sam the chance to experience how special it was just to be himself’
We have a number of exciting projects planned including the development of a CoderDojo platform which will streamline the process of starting, running and maintaining a Dojo for champions around the world. Keep an eye out on our Global Giving page. We look forward to sharing our updates with you going forward. Thank you from all the team for supporting us and we hope that you will continue to do so in the future.
