Warm Days are Almost Over

Children enjoying the weather at the camp.

Refugees in Turkey migrate from one location to another. Some leave the camps with the hope of a better life, some try to go back to their ‘once called’ homes and some simply travel to see their relatives who are also trying to hold on to life in a different place. Yet, they are all still displaced.

We managed to help many refugees with your help and your donations which were given to them via electronic cards to buy winter clothes. With your continuing support, Ezidi Refugees will continue on to have the freedom of buying the winter clothes on the size and the color they prefer.

Ezidis doing their shopping by themselves with dignity at the local stores did not only strengthen their confidence but also supported the local economy. Communicating with the locals is very important since it allowed to create pathways, build relationships and smoothen the adaptation process for the war affected refugees which we were able to provide aid.

Currently there are 1322 Ezidi refugees in this camp located in Diyarbakir and the number increases every day since some camps in the surrounding region are closed down. It is getting colder as the season changes and the sub-living conditions in camp site is not resistant to weather. Refugees are extremely vulnerable to rain, snow and freezing temperatures in the winter yet majority of them are unable to work and buy the clothing items they need.

There are many more Ezidi refugees who are in need and we humbly ask you to support our project to prepare them for winter.
