Your Support Made a Difference in 2024 !

By Diana Zamudio | General Director

Dear Donors and Supporters,

As we welcome 2025, we extend our deepest gratitude and best wishes to you and your families. This new year began with renewed hope and commitment to continue working together for a brighter future for the at-risk children we support.

Thanks to your generosity and the incredible support from our GlobalGiving family, in the past year, we transformed lives by providing a safe home, education, and opportunities, bringing back smiles and dreams to many children, adolescents, and young people who needed them the most. You are an essential part of this mission!

We are pleased to share the results of the actions carried out in 2024, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that guide our work:

GOAL 1: No Poverty We contribute to reducing poverty by implementing strategies focused on inclusion and empowerment.

  • Our residential programs provided comprehensive care to 539 children, adolescents, and young people aged 8 to 25. Their age distribution was: 129 aged 7-13, 334 aged 14-17, and 66 aged 18-25. These numbers highlight the need to adjust strategies to ensure specialized care for each age group.
  • We conducted parenting skills workshops for 487 families, aiming to ensure a successful family reintegration for children in our care and for the families of our program graduates.
  • Through our Sponsorship Plan, we supported 34 children of former program participants who still need assistance.

GOAL 3: Good Health and Well-being We guarantee access to healthcare services for our children and adolescents.

  • We achieved 95% effective enrollment in the healthcare system, yet key challenges remain, such as improving access and continuity of care for migrant children, particularly those facing mental health challenges.
  • We provided approximately 1,200 meals daily—including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and two snacks—designed according to strict nutritional guidelines to ensure the healthy growth and development of our children and adolescents.

GOAL 4: Quality Education We promote access to and completion of inclusive primary, secondary, technical, and higher education.

  • 91 children attended primary school, 400 adolescents completed secondary education, 24 young people pursued university degrees in fields such as civil engineering, sociology, and marketing, and 11 young people enrolled in technical programs.
  • We achieved significant progress in helping our young people fulfill their dreams, both academically and socially. Jairo* a 17-year-old migrant, began his academic journey, learned to read, and successfully adapted to his new country despite the challenges of migration.  Marcos* at 19, entered the professional culinary field.  Lucas * had the opportunity to present his research at a Latin American conference, —an important milestone in his academic career.
  • (Names changed for privacy)

GOAL 10: Reduced Inequalities We promote social and labor inclusion for our young people.

  • Our 2024 demographic analysis reflects an inclusive approach, addressing the diverse backgrounds of our beneficiaries, with a special focus on migrant, ethnic, and LGBTQ+ groups. We supported 34 migrants and 4 individuals from various ethnic backgrounds.
  • Gender distribution among beneficiaries: 331 boys (54%), 187 girls (30%),  21 LGBTQ+ individuals (2%)
  • 23 young people successfully secured formal employment in commercial and service sectors, boosting their economic independence.

Challenges for 2025

Looking ahead, we aim for growth and consolidation in various areas, primarily focusing on academic training, social integration, and emotional and family well-being for our children and youth. This will require coordinated efforts among different social actors and institutions, with special emphasis on technology education, bilingualism, and vocational training.

Let’s keep walking this path together, dear donors, allies, volunteers, and all individuals and companies who want to be part of this winning team striving to build a more just and equitable society.

We also want to remind you that the wonderful Little by Little campaign is coming up soon, from March 25 to 28! Stay tuned, we’ll be sharing more details with you very soon.

With warm regards,

Diana J. Zamudio G.
