The aim of the project was to promote youth involvement in community development process as well as to develop identification of problems, promote youth to find solutions to those problems, promote IT and media sector development, volunteer working activities in the communities.
The project "Communities Young Voice" has progress. Young people were trained and improved their knowledge level. As a result in 10 regions we have active youth working group and in their communities they carry out research, community needs assessment and make comments in their blogs and social Web sites.
Thus, youth employment was increased in communities. The level of self-confidence and self-consciousness of youth was increased, which was seen in their active work in the communities. Besides the mentioned expected results, our beneficiaries formed and developed cooperation between the beneficiaries from Yerevan.
That is what says Hasmik about project
Hello. I am Hasmik from Vanadzor. It is already a year that I am a Manager of working group in Young Journalists Online Center in Lory Region. Within the framework of “Community’s young voice” program I have participated in “The usage of Social media in civil journalism” workshop organized by Samvel Martirosyan who is an expert of IT. Karen and Margarita, from our group also took part in the workshop.
During the workshop the first thought that came up to my mind is that the young people want to activate their community, raise various issues of their communities and find solution to solve them. Then we got acquainted to everyone. Some of them knew each other already, others became our close friends and advisers later.
The workshop was held in free atmosphere. It was interesting to hear the opinions of our peers living in 11 various communities of our country.
Together we decided to raise the important issues that were in our communities. With the group we tried to solve those issues in the scope of our possibilities.
“Community’s young voice” project gave us opportunity to know clearly how to deal with the injustice going on around us. We had responsibility towards our citizens, our country and our nature.
After the workshop we contacted with the members of YJOC center, who are the founders of Young Journalists Online Center (YJOC). They supported us, helped to organize community groups. Except that some of them became our good friends and advisers.
«Zartonk 89» had a huge impact in the development and activation of YJOC team in Lory region with this project. The tools provided to us helped our voices to be heard. One of the outcomes of the project is the blog of our team where we post the work done by our group.
