Project seeks to improve the wellbeing, protection, and future opportunities of orphaned and vulnerable children in underserved communities in Nigeria. DACT will work with caregivers, community leaders, schools, and local service providers to address children's essential needs through educational assistance, nutrition support, psychosocial care, child protection awareness, and referrals to appropriate health and social services. The project will strengthen community-based support systems
Orphaned and vulnerable children in underserved Nigerian communities face poverty, food insecurity, limited educational opportunities, inadequate healthcare, and increased risks of neglect, exploitation, and abuse. Caregivers often lack sufficient resources to meet children's needs. Without timely support and community protection systems, these children may experience exclusion, interrupted education, and reduced opportunities.
The project will provide educational materials, nutrition assistance, psychosocial support, child protection awareness, and referrals to essential health and social services. DACT will engage caregivers, schools, community leaders, and trained volunteers to identify vulnerable children, strengthen family-based care, prevent abuse, and promote safe, inclusive environments where children can thrive.
The project will contribute to improved child wellbeing, school participation, nutrition, and protection from abuse and exploitation. Stronger caregivers and community support networks will help vulnerable children remain in safer family environments. Over time, the initiative aims to reduce exclusion, strengthen resilience, and expand opportunities for children to build independent, productive futures.
