Project Report | Dec 14, 2018
A Year in Review 2018

By David Mulo | Project Leader

The year is finally coming to an end and I would like to retrospect how the year begun, what were some of the key milestones, challenges faced and of cause how we overcame them. Your support has kept us floating and it has trickled down to our participants, the very young person that you have been thinking of.  I would like to take this moment to send out our positive vibes from our participants who we engaged with in the just concluded session in the community a week ago.

100 Children Joined Community Impact program this year!!!

As the schools were heading to a close for the long holidays, Green-Kenya community coaches were invited to share how sports can be used to address different social issues to the parents and invited guests. We received a letter from the director of Splash Community School, Mr.  Josphat, i was emotional as I was reading it, I would like to share with you as a person who has made this happen.

                                                     "APPRECIATION

The school Director, teachers, subordinate staff, parents and the pupils of Splash Community Primary School wish to express their heartfelt thanks to the Green-Kenya fraternity for their presented support and dedication aimed at helping young learners achieve their dreams.

Your sports activities and counseling sessions played a vital role in not only shaping the character of learners but also educating our games teachers on skills needed in handling students under diverse environment. This has been well articulated in 2018 through your spirit of teamwork, dedication and focus.

As a School, we promise to cooperate with you in your future plans of positive contribution to the society through Sports.

May God bless Green-Kenya"

We are passionate about community development through sports, I believe that we are a community, a community working towards a common goal and we are making a contribution with the little we have to make a change in the lives of Children from Mukuru and Shauri Moyo.

In the beginning of this year, we committed ourselves to 100 Children to Join Community impact program and I can now confirm that we surpassed the target. Many of these participants came from Mukuru Slums where community impact program has gained roots. In total we have been able to reach 1462 Children in Mukuru, Shauri Moyo and Buruburu. We have also been able to conduct 90 sessions out of 112 sessions. This was as a result of unfavorable weather conditions that affected many parts of Nairobi, as a result, the fields were submerged with water for a while which forced us to either reschedule or find a way to do double session bearing in mind that 3rd term is the shortest in the school Calendar.

Thank you very much for your support, you believing in us, Giving does not mean that you have too much but rather knowing how much it feels to lack when you are in need. Happy holidays and a prosperous New Year  2019.
