Dear Green-Kenya Family,
I would like to refresh your mind that, Community impact program is the flagship under which, Kick and conserve was born, the program is geared to teaches young people how they can conserve the environment by taking action in their school to plant more trees, how to reduce the pollution of environment through proper disposal of garbage. The program uses sports themed sessions that allow young people to learn by doing in the filed and how they can be change agents.
The emergence of Environmental Clubs in Primary schools
After becoming the first school to scoop the environmental award through their mind boggling presentation on how young people can contribute to protect the environment, Church Army Primary School has continued to demonstrate their prowess by coming up with a vibrant environmental club called the “tigers”. The club is made up of 80 members from class 4 to 8 both boys and girls.
“It is our responsibility to preserve water and to keep our environment clean, our motto is keep water clean. Our club is known” as the tiger and we welcome you to be one of us”. Joy Class 5 Church Army Primary School
The school has also come up with innovative ways to conserve water by recycling the water that has been used to wash dishes and running water at the tap back into the treatment plant behind the classes and pumping it back to a tank that takes the water into the school flower garden.
I am convinced that the knowledge that was impacted in to the minds of these young people during our 3rd edition of Kick and conserve is being put in to practice. This gradual transformation could not have taken place without your support. Mahatma Gandhi once said that, and I quote, “Be the change you want to see in the World”. This change has been initiated by you, so, even if you are within our vicinity or miles away, we would like our success to be your success, we are in this together.
I would like to convey this to you in the most sincere way that, if there is something that we can do collectively as a broad community to inspire, to nurture and instill skills to our Children on how they can contribute to protect our mother nature while they are growing up and they agree to embrace it with a yarning spirit, than I am convinced that our resources and time is well spent. In the coming year, we are planning to work with 10, eight from community schools and 2 from institution that deals with Children who are differently able, especially during Kick and conserve tournament. This will be possible if we are going to put our efforts together, We want the knowledge to protect our mother nature to spread far and wide. That is why we still need your support, If you would like to come in person and see what we are doing, you are more than welcome. We are more than willing to welcome you in our community. It has been a pleasure as well as an honor to share your contribution to the world, to touch the lives of young people in Shauri Moyo, Mukuru, Bahati and its environs.
Our success is your success!!!
