Collaborating with our partners, we continue to address some of the health challenges facing rural, northern Ghana. Our projects build on recent losses of international aid in health care, especially with malaria prevention and treatment. Recognizing that we are not a health care agency, we focus on prevention and enabling our partners to access regional health facilities in emergencies.
We are expanding our health education programming led by a local midwife/nurse which has been quite succesful. In recent months she has provided first aid training to all our teachers and staff, continued health education for our girls' club, and started a health education series for our boys' club. As far as we know, this is the first health training for young men in the region and it has been very well received.
Looking to 2026, our priority is raising funding to distribute more malaria nets before the rainy season (May) and to expand our emergency healthcare fund. We welcome both donations and suggestions for grant and other potential funding opportunities (please contact us at engage@engageglobally.org). Thank you!
