During the past 3 months, mentees continued taking part in computer classes and utilize the learned skills. 6 meetings out of scheduled 6 were realized for the mentees. 2 more meetings were devoted to the mentees to practice their knowledge and make power-point presentations on a topic of their choice.
Mentees presented their PPT presentations on the following topics: "Famous writers of Armenia”, “Oceans” “Wonders”, “Fashion”, “USA”, “Hayk and Bel”, and “Mher - our Frunz” etc.
After the presentation, one of the mentees stated: “I am really happy that I am a part of Nor Luyce. It arms a lot of teenagers with important skills that we will use in the future. With their help, I have overcome the anxiety of speaking in front of the public, and now I know that I won’t have difficulties in the university and I will be confident.”
Another mentee also expressed her gratitude saying: “Before coming to Nor Luyce, I was self-conscious. It was hard for me to keep eye contact with people and express my opinion. But now, due to the work and support that I received here, I feel comfortable to express my opinion. With the support of Nor Luyce staff, I felt empowered and believed in my strengths. As a result, I could present my PPT to other beneficiaries of the organization. And I can say that I am so proud of me’’.
The resource center was used not only by the mentees but also by the mentors and other volunteers of the organization.
From February to April mentees used the resource center to work on their career plans, write journals, research papers, individual papers, search for the necessary information on the internet and make power point presentation for their classes.
The computer skills empowered 6 mentees to help the Group Meeting Coordinator to organize group meetings for the other beneficiaries of the organization. They organized meetings about International Women’s day, Blind spots, tolerance, Public speaking skills, etc. which they presented to the participants.
In total during these several months, Nor Luyce provided 159 hours of computer classes and usage to 58 mentees, 22 mentors, and 6 volunteers.
