Before taking computer classes, it seemed to me it is very hard and I won't be able to learn it. But due to the computer classes organized in Nor Luyce I gained not only simple skills, like how to work with the keyboard, the mouse, but also more complex skills like how to make folders, documents, how to make PPT and design all my work in Microsoft program. The good thing about the classes was that we not only learnt the skills, but we could use our skills so that we wouldn't forget them. These classes are very important, because though we live in a digital era, there are still a lot of young people, students of my age who don't know how to use a computer. Another thing I did to use mi skills in a computer was to teach my friends and peers how to use a computer.- Ani Sargsyan, Mentee
Mentees continue taking part in computer classes. The old mentees who learned Microsoft office, they use their skills to do volunteer work in Nor Luyce and at school, to make their studies productive at the colleges and share their skills with their peers, while the new mentees start learning computer skills from the very beginning.
During these two months, mentees used their skills to write course works, research papers, individual papers, searching for the necessary information on the internet and do volunteer work using their skills. The volunteer work includes and is not limited to making a database of meetings, typing out evaluation information, check-in lists, assisting in preparing group meetings for the new mentoring group (making PPTs, searching for group meeting activities, ice-breaking activities and other important things for the meetings).
In total during these several months, mentees used their computer skills realizing 35 hours of volunteer work.
Computer classes are important for everyone, wherever you go, people expect you to have computer skills, this includes schools, colleges, university. But not everyone can afford to take computer classes and pay for it. I am blessed to have this opportunity to gain skills free of charge. - Veronika Asatryan
5 mentees used their skills to search for the right information on the internet and make PPTs for sharing the new information with other mentees of the organization.
In these 2 months, mentees received 19 hours of computer classes.
